My Spirit Is Willing
Lord make me humble,
No matter what the price may be,
Help me know that I am nothing,
Unless your Spirit dwells in me.

Help me see myself for what I am,
My faults to recognize,
Show me daily I need your guidance,
For it's in you that my help lies.

Let me call my weakness sins,
For that is what they are,
My flesh and spirit is different,
And they are constantly at war.

I want to see the things in me,
That might keep me out of touch,
Lord, you know that they're not worth it,
For to me you mean too much.

There's much that I don't understand,
Many things I need to know,
So I can be all you would have me be,
And grow as I should grow.

I know when there are things,
In my life that shouldn't be,
I cannot do the job for you,
That you have planned for me.

The things that I call faults,
Can be a stumbling block I know,
Can cause someone else to fall,
And cause me not to grow.

For we must all daily,
Overcome these things if life,
For the world is full of darkness,
Full of sin and grief and strife.

I'd like to grow in stature,
I know there's a price to pay,
I want to see just what might cause,
Me not to make it all the way.

Then I can pray and seek your help,
You said you would hear my call,
You would keep me going on ahead,
And help me not to fall.

So please God keep me humble,
Your fullness help me seek,
For my spirit is willing,
But my flesh is oh so weak.
